The territory of Maremma hills is full of a past that remains in the present. This was fertile area for the Etruscan civilization, who settled there and gave life to villages, aqueducts, necropolis. The Etruscans were famous for their ability to work the bucchero a type of black pottery, fine and very light, used to make vases and amphorae. Formed the vase, the Etuschi used to let air dry and then put it in a special oven that was giving him the typical black color.  The Etruscans loved life in the most unusual and just settled on this land because it is rich in mineral elements of great importance, limestone, tuff, rivers and streams.  The area of the Maremma hills, starting from the coast and inland on arrival, is rich in Etruscan settlements, cemeteries, remains indelible, a past alive in the present.
