Bolsena Lake This lake is popular not only with recreational fishing but is also fished by professional fishermen. The main fish species in the lake are the goregone, tench and lattarino. Those who fished in this large expanse of water know that it is a extremely abundent lake with good catches but can also be very difficult to face because of its immense size and weather conditions which can change without notice. In fact Bolsena Lake is well know for its wind (the unchallenged lord of this lake) and during strong wind days it can have waves of up to one metre.
