Monte Amiata

It is from the depths of this old and now extinct volcano that  all the thermal sources of the area spring. Its slopes, once covered by lava, are today lush green and home to a thick forest of chestnut and beech trees which have always given food, fuel and work to the inhabitants of the mountain. The products of the undergrowth including mushrooms, chestnuts and red berries are used in traditional ancient recipes and sold with a guarantee of the highest quality. For those who love to trek and mountain bike there are many marked trails which range in various degrees of difficulty, allowing you to enjoy whole days immersed in the fabulous nature. During the winter, snow transforms the mountain into a small but welcoming ski resort ideal for a pleasant weekend of sports, wine and gastronomy.
