La Casa degli Archi
Casa degli Archi is a historic residence in the oldest part of the medieval town Pitigliano. One of a kind, the farmhouse is entirely carved out of tufo rock and was once two ancient storerooms used by the old owners to house animals and hold the town oven. Unique in its position, the residence’s large windows stretch out over the entire town and beautiful surrounding valleys. Inside the atmosphere is refined, intimate and comfortable, and organised into a large communal entry area, a small balcony overlooking the valley, a large open-plan living room with fireplace and a fully furnished kitchen. Guests can enjoy two double-bed bedrooms and one bedroom with bunk bed, perfect for children, and two bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a Jacuzzi. The home has six sleeping places in all and depending on your needs can be booked as a single room or as an entire apartment.
La camera del Vicolo
La camera del Vicolo is welcoming and elegant room with a large queen-size bed positioned at the centre of a grand master bedroom. The furnishings are all antiques and the room is divided by a small loft, where you will find a desk in front of a large window, perfect for those looking for some downtime. The breathtaking views that can be seen from the room take in a small ancient alleyway and the valley below. The rest of the space is given over to a beautiful bathroom with Jacuzzi and a small tufo rock niche where the sink and mirror sit.
La camera dei Pensatori
La camera dei Pensatori is on the far corner of the tufo cliff that holds up Pitigliano. Cut-off from the rest of the rooms by a long tunnel carved into the rock, this room is also furnished with antiques and has its own tufo rock niches. The bathroom with shower is located at the front of the room and refined with local hand-crafted ceramics. The entire room was originally built in the Middle Ages and from the room’s large windows and arch is a breathtaking view of the northern side of Pitigliano.
La camera dei Pupi
Enter this room through a hidden door in a niche at the end of the large living room. Carved from one of the old storerooms and furnished with the youngest guests in mind, this room is divided into two levels connected by a free-standing staircase, also an antique. On the ground floor is a bunk bed, while the top floor can be used a playroom or as a place to admire the porthole carved into the tufo and the beautiful valley that can be seen below.
