Castello dei Caterini is only 10 minutes from Bolsena Lake, the largest volcanic lake in Europe, in the heart of Alta Tuscia and on the border between Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany. The castle is the ideal holiday destination for those who love the great outdoors. In fact, guests can enjoy the fresh country air while horse riding, tennis, trekking or even just relaxing pool side, all without having to leave the castle grounds. In this enchanting destination you can leave the stresses of modern life behind and enter into the splendid old world of the Maremma Collinare, discovering the ancient ruins hidden in the countryside, exploring the enormous Etruscan patrimony and visiting the magnificent towns that rest on the surrounding hills. The romantic natural beauty of this location makes it the perfect place for weddings or receptions and the castle grounds have many special areas and buildings allocated with any ceremony in mind. Adjacent to the castle is a small privately owned church, whic is also available for masses and celebrations.

The apartments and rooms
What was once the private manor of the grand Caterini family has today been transformed into an elegant farmhouse carefully refurbished to ensure guests experience that perfect getaway with all the comforts. Inside there are eight apartments for four, six or eight people. All the apartments are divided into individual rooms, each with an ensuite, to ensure singles or couples don’t have to rent the entire apartment but can stay in one room. There are 14 room/bathroom suites in all with a maximum of 42 sleeping places. Much of the furniture in the suites is that which adorned the original rooms during the time of the Caterini family, an aspect that makes these rooms even more characteristic. Slightly detached from the main building, beneath a huge old oak tree, is the Chalet, which is divided into two autonomous apartments, each with their own patio and private garden area and perfect for a maximum of four people. The Chalet also has a swimming pool just for those staying in the two apartments, to ensure complete privacy during your holiday.
